What periods do these lamps come from?

The available selection dates from the nineteen twenties and nineteen thirties. These decades define the Art Deco movement seen across the inventory. Makers working during this era combined stone and metal to create functional desk lighting.

What materials were used to make them?

Makers constructed these items using marble for the bases, combined with bronze, spelter, brass, and patinated metal. Glass and frosted glass elements were added for the light diffusion. Each material contributed to the substantial weight and industrial aesthetic of the desk lamps.

Where were these lamps manufactured?

Many of the figural pieces originate from France, reflecting European design trends of the interwar period. French workshops specialised in novelty animal and human figures mounted on stone. These continental pieces often incorporate distinct sculptural details.

How do I identify an Art Deco desk lamp?

Look for heavy stone plinths paired with stylised metal figures like dogs, parrots, or human forms. The geometry and materials point directly to the nineteen twenties and thirties. Examining the combination of frosted glass and patinated metal helps confirm the period style.
