Where should a chandelier hang?

Chandeliers find their traditional placement in the centre of principal rooms or above dining tables where they can function as a primary focal point. Ceiling height dictates the scale required, ensuring adequate clearance beneath the lowest crystal drops or hanging frame.

How do I clean crystal drops?

Crystal components benefit from gentle washing with warm water and mild soap while remaining attached to the fixture, or after careful removal. Drying each piece thoroughly with a lint-free cloth restores maximum clarity and brilliance to the glass.

Are these fixtures wired for electricity?

Many surviving pieces arrive adapted for modern electrical supplies while retaining their historical sockets and internal wiring channels. Professional inspection ensures the electrical components meet current safety standards prior to domestic installation.

How do I identify French styles?

French lighting designs display specific decorative vocabularies, ranging from the asymmetrical curves of rococo revival to the restrained symmetry of neoclassical forms. Details such as cast leaf motifs, urn shapes, and ribbon crestings point directly to these historical design movements.
