What periods do these pictures span?

The available selection covers eighteenth-century works, Regency and Georgian pieces, and nineteenth-century Victorian examples. Twentieth-century impressionist and illustrated pieces also feature. This broad timeline reflects shifting artistic approaches to natural history, from scientific botanical recording to expressive garden scenes.

How should these framed works be hung?

These framed pictures suit placement in hallways, studies, and reception rooms where wall space allows for careful composition. Pairs of watercolours or oil paintings work well arranged side by side. Protecting the paper and canvas pieces from direct sunlight preserves the original pigments and watercolours over time.

Are these works hand painted?

Many examples are original hand-painted watercolours, gouaches, pastels, and oil paintings on canvas or board. Artists applied pigments directly to capture specific flowers, birds, and garden views. Selected items also include hand-coloured lithographs and stitched textile embroideries executed by hand.

How do I identify a Regency botanical piece?

Regency pieces often display refined watercolour techniques focused on exotic birds or specific botanical specimens. They frequently feature period frames such as rosewood. Stylistic conventions of the period lean toward precise observation combined with elegant composition.
