Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
This stand has the traditional beehive shaped top finial, a strong shaped centre column with plenty of bent beech arms, legs & other decorative curves. There are plenty of arms for coats & hats, while there are gaps at the bottom for sticks & umbrellas. This is one of the better quality examples of these bentwood stands & I would date it to around the 1890 period.
