This French country wine bar and high stool set dates from 1930 and belongs to the rustic farmhouse style. The group comprises a half-moon home bar with a curved green padded front, two matching high stools with round solid wood seats, and a small wall shelf holding two wine glasses. Elm timber and naturally twisted, gnarled grapevine roots provide the dark brown structure for each piece. The bar top uses thick elm, while the frame incorporates knobbly twisted vines forming vertical supports. The stools rest on three legs and stretchers fashioned from aged grapevines. Overall, the set displays an aged patina on the wood. Measuring 102 cm high, 99 cm wide, and 56 cm deep, the bar sits comfortably in a home entertainment area, dining room, or dedicated bar space. The stools provide seating at the curved counter, and the wall shelf offers overhead storage for glassware above two bottles placed on the bar counter. The combination of green upholstery and dark brown natural wood brings organic texture to a room, functioning as a practical entertaining station for serving drinks during gatherings.

A French grapevine home bar set is a style of rustic furniture constructed using preserved, gnarled vine trunks and roots, historically crafted in wine-producing regions of France.

These pieces traditionally feature mature grapevine stems or roots for the structural base, combined with hardwood surfaces such as oak or chestnut, and upholstered panels in leather or heavy fabric.

Authentic examples feature traditional timber joinery, distinct natural contortions in the vine roots, and natural ageing across both the wood surfaces and metal fixings.

A grapevine bar set functions as a statement feature in a dedicated entertainment room, dining area, or home lounge when complemented by neutral walls and warm lighting.

Maintain the woodwork with periodic application of natural beeswax polish, and wipe down upholstered panels using a soft cloth followed by a specialized leather conditioner.
