Superb, top flight Ziegler & Co carpet from the cherished workshops of the Anglo-Swiss firm in North West Persia, circa 1890. In almost unused condition, this time capsule carpet has just enough wear to produce a beautiful, shining patina. In 30 years of dealing I have not seen such fantastic full pile on this kind of Ziegler, one with a lovely soft coral red ground, large scale, animated design with a light blue broad border of blossoms and vines. Will easily go another 130 years and more...
