Antique Mahal Carpet

Description

This antique Mahal carpet is such an attractive and decorative carpet, with all natural dyes dating from 1890-1900.  We have always loved the pale blue the weavers used over 120 years ago and this lovely piece is full of this wonderful dye! The off white lattice pattern gives this red ground carpet a lot of life, as this colour uplifts the whole palette.  A varying border of blue, grey tones balances the whole piece beautifully.

With a soft wool pile it has been professionally cleaned by our workshop and in original order it is ready to use on the floor.  Not having a central medallion makes this an easy antique carpet to place in a variety of rooms.  These decorative antique carpets from Northern Persia are full of charm and suit country houses to London apartments.
