Country Homes Antiques Stirling has dated this French Impressionist Oil Painting to the 19th Century.
A beautiful signed & dated 1888 impressionist oil on panel by Honore Cavaroc a French painter who was born in Lyons and exhibited at the Salons in Lyons and Paris from 1872 onwards winning numerous awards. This work depicts a beautiful girl on a summers day with a parasol by the banks of a river.

Painter, pastellist. Portraits, landscapes, still-lifes, flowers.
Cavaroc studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyons in 1866, and also with Jean Seignemartin.
He painted his last works when he was more than 80, including The Gaiety of the Fields in Montmoyen (Côte d'Or) and Entry of the Park in Oullins (Rhône).

Cavaroc first exhibited at the Salon in Lyons in 1872. He was a member of the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, taking part up to 1929, and winning a medal in 1886. He also received a third-class medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1889 and 1990.
