When I first viewed this antique English oak settle (Circa 1680 - 1720) its overall look, proportions and good colour were so appealing that I quickly dismissed the fact that the seat and an odd rail had been replaced 100 years ago. The early conservation work blends in so well with its original Late 17th Century framework and panelling that I was happy to purchase it and have it sensitively restored. Now finished, whether it is for welcoming visitors in a hallway or for extra seating in a kitchen this charming settle is ready to be used and enjoyed.
