John Howkins Antiques has dated this Victorian Marquetry Centre Table to the 1870s.
The inner section with particularly good book matched burr walnut veneers. The centre with further marquetry inlay centred by a red rose surrounded by flowers and foliage, all in various exotic stained woods including satinwood, boxwood, mahogany and tulip wood.The base with a good turned and carved column which is supported by 3 cabriole legs all having carved flowers to the knees and scroll toes with brass castors. This fine table is in pristine condition and has been re-polished in our own workshops using traditional French polishing methods. Maximum diameter 54.25’'/135cm. Height 29''/74cm.
