Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian oak corner cupboards were crafted during the 18th and early 19th centuries, designed to utilise corner spaces efficiently. They typically feature solid oak construction, fielded or arched door panels, heavy moulded cornices, and decorative brass hardware reflective of period craftsmanship.

These pieces were primarily constructed from solid English oak, often featuring hand-dovetailed joints, peg construction, and hand-planed backboards. Doors often incorporate single fielded panels, secured with brass H-hinges or decorative strap hinges.

Authentic Georgian examples display signs of hand-tooling, such as hand-sawn backboards, irregular wood graining, and historic timber shrinkage around panel joins. Look for genuine age wear around the brass keyhole escutcheons and original mounting points.

Mount the cabinet in an unused dining room or hallway corner to add vertical interest and functional storage. Pairing rich dark oak with warm neutral wall shades creates a balanced contrast between historical woodwork and contemporary decor.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a soft cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax paste once or twice a year. Keep the cabinet away from direct heat sources and high humidity to prevent the timber from cracking or warping.
