Adorned with sumptuous neoclassical marquetry designs of superior quality, using light and dark exotic woods, with some painted.
To the top is a central oval panel depicting a delightful classical scene of dancing putti amongst classical architecture, surrounded with elegant profusely inlaid foliate scroll ornament.
To the front centre of the commode is an inlaid oval panel, again with a delightful classical scene of putti surrounding a classical maiden. Again profusely surrounded with foliate scroll ornament, with cross-banded frieze.
Elegant tapering stile supports, having inlaid classical motifs, of urns and foliage.
To the top of the sides are mythical creatures with oval panels below, again having sumptuous inlaid classical scenes.
The drawers are mahogany lined and have beautifully ornate bronze pulls.
Simply stunning.
The condition overall is very good, all marquetry is in excellent stable condition. Some very tiny minor nibbles to a couple of edges of the veneers on one of the drawers, visible in the pictures, really very minor. General signs of use consistent with age but again only very minor.
