Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Scottish pebble jewellery refers to pieces set with native Scottish stones, including agates, jaspers, and cairngorms, mounted in silver or gold settings. The style gained widespread popularity during the mid-to-late 19th century after Queen Victoria purchased Balmoral Castle and embraced Scottish traditions.

These brooches were crafted using sterling silver or low-carat gold mountings, fitted with hand-cut native stones such as grey banded agate, red jasper, moss agate, and bloodstone. The stones were individually shaped to interlock precisely within metal bezels.

Authentic 19th-century pieces typically display hand-cut, flush-set agates with minimal gaps, extended pin stems that protrude past the edge of the brooch, and traditional tube hinges with simple C-clasps rather than modern safety catches.

Brooches can be styled within framed fabric shadow boxes, pinned to velvet display stands on a dressing table, or integrated into framed antique textile collages for a decorative wall display.

Clean silver components gently using a soft polishing cloth while avoiding harsh liquid chemical cleaners that can damage porous natural stones. Store the item in a dry, soft-lined box away from direct sunlight and humidity.
