In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Scottish pebble jewellery refers to 19th-century decorative accessories crafted from silver and inset with locally sourced agates, jaspers, and quartz, which gained widespread popularity following Queen Victorias visits to Balmoral Castle.

These brooches were typically constructed from sterling silver or white metal alloys and set with hand-cut Scottish gemstones, including Montrose agate, moss agate, carnelian, and bloodstone.

Authentic period examples feature hand-cut lapidary stones flush-set into silver mounts, period-appropriate C-clasps or extended pin stems, hand-engraved border details, and natural patination on the metal.

Brooches can be worn on tailored coat lapels, heavy knitwear, or silk scarves, or displayed as decorative items inside velvet-lined collectors trays or shadow frames.

Wipe the metal gently with a soft microfibre polishing cloth, avoiding liquid chemical dips or water submersion, which can dislodge inset stones or damage porous agate materials.
