Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George III oak nightstand is a piece of English bedside furniture produced during the reign of King George III (17601820). These pieces were designed to hold bedside necessities and commonly featured tray-top galleries, enclosed cupboards, and lower drawers or pull-out sections.

Georgian nightstands were primarily constructed from solid native hardwoods, most notably oak, mahogany, and walnut. Secondary timber such as pine or deal was often used for drawer linings, while hardware was typically made from cast brass.

Authentic 18th-century pieces display hand-cut dovetail joints, hand-planed back panels, and joinery secured with wooden pegs. Surface patination, uneven wear consistent with age, and original brass fittings with hand-finished cast marks also indicate period authenticity.

A Georgian oak nightstand can serve as an accent side table in a living room, a hallway storage console, or a standalone bedside table. Combining dark oak timber with contemporary soft furnishings creates an appealing contrast between historical joinery and modern design.

Maintain antique oak by dusting with a soft dry cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve timber hydration. Position the item away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage or fading.
