Persian Hand-knotted Wool Rug, Geometric Medallion Design

Description

A good quality hand-knotted Persian wool rug, decorated with a striking central lozenge medallion on a deep navy field, surrounded by an intricate arrangement of stylised floral and geometric motifs. The warm terracotta main border is richly decorated with repeating foliate ornament, framed by multiple guard borders in complementary shades of green, ivory and blue.

Hand woven in soft wool with a dense pile and finished with traditional knotted fringes to each end, the rug displays a harmonious palette of navy blue, terracotta, sage green, ivory and muted gold, making it suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Presented in good overall condition with light, even wear consistent with careful domestic use.
