Description

A fabulous antique Heriz carpet woven around 1890-1900 with a striking large geometric leaf design and gorgeous floral motifs with fun and colourful dyes.  The vibrancy to the colours is wonderful, we have professionally washed this carpet and the colours have really cleaned up beautifully, a testament to the antique dyes.  Condition is excellent, with a medium pile height, a finer weave on this Heriz too, which is why the weavers have created such an interesting pattern.  The border is wonderfully drawn too, using deep blues and lots of gold and pale blues with rare greens to lift the whole palette.
