Salisbury Antiques Centre has dated this Antique Persian Kurdish Rug to the 1900s.
Hand-knotted in richly coloured wool, the rug displays a wonderfully bold geometric design with an all-over lattice field incorporating stylised star motifs, hooked diamonds, rosettes and traditional tribal devices, framed by a striking deep indigo border with angular floral motifs.

The drawing and construction are typical of village weaving from the North-West Persian / Kurdish weaving tradition, offering the spontaneity and charm collectors look for in authentic tribal rugs. The hand-knotted construction and natural age-related variation add to its appeal and individuality.

A highly decorative and genuine antique rug, ideal for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Condition:
Honest age-related wear consistent with use, including edge and end wear, some distortion and areas of surface wear, all contributing to its authentic antique character.
A decorative and collectible antique tribal rug with strong visual presence.
