Description

North west persia,early 20th century.

A pleasing country house kurdish tribal rug. No harshness of colours nice light pink in its weave. Stylised tree of life in rows within the light toffee ground colour. Within the central diamond medallion are bird motifs and notice the headless birds in the upper pink corner spandrels !

Has been copiously hand washed,last two images,plenty of images to look at.

All over even pile with some lower spots. Original kurdish end weave selvedges. Dark brown side cords. Great overall look.

Size is 6 foot 9 inches by 3 foot 10 inches. 206cm by 117cm. At widest points. Size excluding the wool selvedges each end. Lustrous wool pile hand knotted onto wool foundations..

Weighs 6.1kg. U.k post £20.
