Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Late 17th-century oak side tables, dating from the Carolean and William and Mary periods, feature turned baluster legs, lower box stretchers for structural support, rectangular plank tops, and single drawers with moulded fronts and brass drop handles.

These tables were constructed using solid English oak joined with hand-cut mortise and tenon joints secured by wooden pegs. Drawers featured side-hung grooves or early hand-cut dovetails, paired with hand-cast brass fittings.

Authentic 17th-century pieces display irregular hand-planed surfaces, wooden pegged joinery, historical wear to the drawer runners, and natural oxidisation in unexposed areas. The proportions and turning profiles reflect late 17th-century craftsmanship.

Position the table in a hallway or living room to create depth alongside contemporary walls. Style the top surface with modern ceramic vessels, a table lamp, or framed artwork to balance historic timber with clean modern lines.

Dust regularly with a dry lint-free cloth and apply a thin layer of natural beeswax polish once or twice a year. Keep the piece away from direct heat sources and high humidity to prevent timber movement or shrinkage.
