Antique Victorian Silver Table Snuff Box, Birmingham 1873

Description

An excellent example of an antique Victorian silver table snuff box. Made in Birmingham in 1873 by George Unite. He was apprenticed to Joseph Wilmore and gained his freedom around 1825. He worked from premesis in Carolina Street in Birmingham. Unite died at the amazing age of 102. This box closes crisply and the 17 part hinge is tight. There is beautiful engraving on both ends and engine turning on the sides and base. A very collectable snuff box.

Weight; 120 grams or 4 ozst approximately.
