A Good Quality Late Regency Period Rectangular Mahoagany Lamp Table Or Occasional Table, Having Very Well Figured Top With Crossbanded Decoration, Over One Drawer To Frieze With Replacement Turned Brass Knobs, Opposed By False Drawer To Reverse And Panelled Sides, Raised On Elegant Spiral Twist Turned Legs And Original Brass Castors.
A very attractive, well made, little georgian occasional, or side table, which is perfect for a whole variety of different spaces around the home with a lamp, or photo frames, or anything else which one desires perched upon it.
It has one drawer which is useful for storing away some bits and pieces and a very elegant top with attractive crossbanded decoration.
The slide may well have originally had an upholstered storage bag attached to the bottom of it, but we think its mcuh more elegant in design and useful in function as it is now.
The table has clearly been constructed in a high level workshop, boasting superbly figured mahogany veneers and
... has real elegance to it. The legs are very fine and the original brass castors which they terminate on are again of very high quality.
Overall the table is in good, functional condition and is a great little size. It comes with working lock and key and there are no structural defects or major historical damage to speak of, just the expected old marks which have blended into the surface which one would expect to find on an item which is around 200 years old.
As with all items which we offer for sale it has been inspected in our workshops, by our highly skilled, trained antique furniture restorers, who have ensured that it is in tip top condition, including a lovely natural wax polish, before being offered for sale.
