A nicely painted study that highlights a young gypsy girl near her encampment in a countryside setting. She is barefoot, wearing a red cloak and green skirt. Her jet black hair rests on her shoulders.

Signed and dated 1866, presented within a decorative glazed gilt frame which is most probably the original, small losses present, set within a gold coloured mount.
