Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian watercolour portraiture from the turn of the 20th century often features delicate brushwork, soft colour palettes, and realistic representations of period fashion. Portraits during this era frequently depicted subjects in elaborate hats and detailed garments using refined wash techniques.

Watercolour paintings from 1900 typically utilised finely ground pigments suspended in a water-soluble binder, applied onto heavy cotton rag paper. These works were housed behind glass within moulded wooden or gilded frames to preserve the paper medium.

Authentic Edwardian watercolours usually display age-consistent paper toning, artist signatures with date marks, and period-specific clothing styles. Examining the paper texture and original backing within the frame can further verify age and provenance.

A framed portrait works effectively as a focal point within a gallery wall or positioned above a console table alongside contemporary ceramics. The gentle pastel tones balance modern neutral spaces while complementing traditional decorative schemes.

To preserve watercolour paintings, display them away from direct sunlight to prevent pigment fading. Framing should incorporate acid-free mount boards and UV-protective glass within a temperature-stable environment.
