Victorian brass candlesticks were produced during the reign of Queen Victoria (18371901) and are characterised by turned baluster stems, square or circular bases, and heavier cast construction designed for daily household use.

These lighting fixtures were primarily cast from brass, an alloy of copper and zinc. Stems were often cast in two vertical halves and brazed together or machine-turned on a lathe before assembly.
