Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

King of Diamond candlesticks are Victorian brass candle holders characterised by a central faceted diamond-shaped knop along the stem. Named to commemorate Queen Victorias Diamond Jubilee in 1897, these pieces were widely produced in England during the late nineteenth century.

Victorian brass candlesticks were typically produced using sand casting techniques, where molten brass was poured into sand moulds. The cast components were then hand-turned, joined, and polished, often featuring internal steel push-ejector rods to remove spent candle ends.

Authentic period examples generally display hand-turned lathe marks inside the hollow base, natural surface patination, and substantial physical weight. Many original pieces also feature stamped maker marks or pattern names near the base rim.

Positioning a pair of brass candlesticks on a dining table, sideboard, or mantelpiece adds warm metallic tones and sculptural interest. Pairing them with contemporary taper candles creates a balanced contrast between historical craft and modern styling.

Maintain brass by dusting regularly with a soft cloth and applying a specialised brass polish sparingly to remove oxidisation. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive pads that could scratch the turned surface and remove age-related character.
