Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency games table is a piece of furniture produced during the early 19th century designed for playing card and parlour games. These tables typically feature a swivel fold-over top that conceals a lined playing surface or storage compartment.

Tables from this period were predominantly constructed from solid mahogany or rosewood veneers over pine or oak carcases. Key details often included hand-carved floral or acanthus decorations, baize linings, and cast brass toe castors.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints, original wooden swivel hinges, classical architectural proportions, and period-correct hardware such as castors. The underside of the fold-over top typically shows natural patination and age-related timber shrinkage.

A pair of games tables can be placed folded against a wall to serve as symmetrical console tables in an entryway or living space. When additional seating or entertainment space is required, they can be moved into the centre of the room and unfolded.

Maintain mahogany timber by dusting regularly with a soft, dry lint-free cloth and applying beeswax paste once or twice a year. Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and strong sunlight to prevent veneer movement and fading.
