Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

William IV card tables, dating from the 1830s, bridge the transition between Regency elegance and early Victorian weight. They typically feature solid mahogany construction, turned or fluted legs, carved apron detailing, and hinged tops that swivel to open.

Primary woods included high-grade mahogany, rosewood, and walnut veneers, often paired with oak or pine drawer linings and substructures. Playing surfaces were frequently lined with wool baize or leather.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-correct construction methods, such as hand-cut dovetails, original swivel-hinge ironwork, and subtle unevenness indicative of hand-planed wood on the underside.

Positioned against a wall when folded, these tables function as elegant hallway consoles or side tables, offering flexible conversion into active gaming surfaces when extended.

Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish along the wood grain once or twice a year to maintain the original finish and prevent timber drying.
