Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

William IV furniture, produced between 1830 and 1837, bridges the Regency and early Victorian styles. It is characterized by substantial proportions, robust turnings, bold carved acanthus motifs, and rich timber veneers such as mahogany and rosewood.

These tables were typically crafted from solid mahogany or rosewood framing with fine timber veneers. The playing surface was lined with woollen baize fabric, and internal mechanisms used brass hinges and iron swivels.

Authentic pieces feature period-correct joinery, swivel-and-fold leaf mechanisms, and heavy turned or fluted pedestal bases on quadruped plinth foundations. Look for genuine hand-saw marks underneath and original baize or evidence of historical re-lining.

When closed, the table functions as a console table against a wall or in an entryway, supporting decorative lamps, ceramics, or artwork. It can be folded open as a focal piece in a library or drawing room for leisure use.

Clean timber surfaces with natural beeswax polish using a soft cloth, moving in the direction of the wood grain. The wool baize should be brushed gently with a soft lint brush and kept out of direct sunlight to prevent colour fading.
