Antique Victorian Ash and Marble Aesthetic Style Washstand

An antique Victorian aesthetic movement ash washstand, with marble top and shaped raised gallery back. The gallery features shaped side brackets, turned finials and central panel set with original blue and white tiles of repeating circular motifs of stylised floral and bird motifs The washstand has two frieze drawers with original brass pull handles and stands on elegantly turned legs with the original ceramic castors, each with studded metal collars. Overall a very handsome example.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks and scratches throughout the piece. Light scratches and staining to the marble, as well as some minor loss to the underside corners. Tiles are intact with no noted cracks. Drawers run smoothly and castors present and turning freely. Original towel rail to sides has been removed leaving holes, but this does not detract from the overall appeal or appearance of the piece.
