Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A twin-fusee wall clock is a mechanical timepiece featuring two cone-shaped pulleys (fusees) designed to maintain constant torque as the mainsprings unwind. One fusee powers the timekeeping mechanism, while the second powers a striking mechanism that sounds the hours on an internal bell or gong.

These timepieces are typically constructed with turned mahogany or oak cases, heavy cast brass bezels holding protective glass, hand-painted iron dial plates, and solid brass internal clockwork assemblies.

Authentic period examples feature cast brass bezels with side locking latches, hand-painted Roman numerals on a convex or flat iron dial, heavy brass movement plates held with tapered steel pins, and hand-carved wooden surrounds with side or bottom access doors.

Mount the clock on a neutral-toned focal wall in a hallway, home office, or dining room to allow the mahogany timber and brass bezel to contrast cleanly against contemporary paint schemes.

Dust the exterior mahogany casing with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and clean the glass cover with a specialized dry cloth. Keep the timepiece away from direct heat sources and moisture, ensuring the mechanical movement is professionally oiled and serviced every five to seven years.
