Description

A good very early 17th.C. boarded six plank coffer. The well shaped end boards with cut and notched profiles. The top true and flat without warp, and with notched end edges. Retaining the original lock plate and Hasp with decorative strap across the top. oversize thick gauge oak planks used throughout, hence quite weighty. Without any issues. Very good grain, dark rich colour and wonderful patination. Circa 1600-20.
