Antique Georgian Blue and White “Zebra Pattern” Platter

18th century
Description

This is a superb example of early blue and white transferware by “Rogers”.

John Roger’s and son manufactured in -north Staffordshire from 1814-1836

Based at Dale Hall, Longport.

The pattern is known as the zebra pattern, as clearly the oriental gentleman is riding a donkey in the Asian stylised scene.

Surrounded by a border of European flowers.

The platter is in superb condition, considering agent chips or cracks.

One old hairline which can be seen on the reverse and which has not travelled through to the front or edges.

26,5cm length x 18cm with a depth of 2.5cm
