French Gilt Brass Carriage Clock

1900 - 1920
Description

A lovely French carriage clock by Richard & Co, Paris,

The case with applied decoration and engine turned pilasters flanking the white enamel Roman dial.

It has a visible platform escapement for a single barrel going eight day movement. The back plate is stamped R&Co, Made in Paris.

In very good condition and keeping good time. It has the original key.

Circa 1900.

Richard et Cie started in Paris in 1848 and added a London branch (Richard & Co) in 1867.

They were renowned carriage clock makers producing clocks in English and French styles for the respective markets.
