Description

A smaller proportioned French brass cased striking & repeating carriage clock. An enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. Fluted side columns and stepped mouldings to the base and top. The dial is signed 'Geo. Edward & Son, Ripon' as the retailer. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. A lever escapement visible through the oval top glass. A repeater button to the top. Nu,mbered 4721. Circa 1900.
