Larger scale C19th Sino-Tibetan style bronze study of Buddha Shakyamuni.

Depicted seated on a double lotus throne in dhyanasana , the left hand upon his lap holding an alms bowl , the right hand lowered to touch the earth in bhumispara mudra .

Wearing a traditional sanghati robe over his shoulders with a decorative cast edge , the face with a benevolent expression, having elongated ears and wearing an elaborate curled hair head-dress . The eyes of almond shape , the forehead with a central urna .

An impressive study of good scale and proportions, having a consistent rich patina to the bronze .
