An antique French bronze figure after the classical Venus de Milo, cast with a dark, softly patinated surface and mounted on an integral rectangular base. The form follows the familiar contrapposto stance, with the torso subtly twisted and the drapery gathered low across the hips, revealing carefully modelled anatomy and fluid folds.

The base is inscribed “Susse Frères Edts Paris,” indicating production by the well-known Parisian foundry, with casting marks and wear consistent with age visible to the underside and edges. The surface shows gentle variation in tone, enhancing the sculptural depth across the hair, torso and drapery. A well-resolved cabinet-scale sculpture suited to display on a mantel, console or desk, reflecting 19th-century interest in classical revival forms.
