The back having a lunette carved top rail enriched with punchwork and surmounted by four turned finials, above three horizontal panels of flowing S-scroll motifs issuing stylised pods of crosshatching, and four vertical lozenge carved panels below divided by a cross-hatched rail featuring a long undulating band to the centre. The uprights adorned with split spindle appliqués and flanked by spandrels.
