Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This early 20th century Spanish Colonial armchair and table set dates from 1920. Both pieces incorporate tan brown leather, wood, and willow in a rustic design vibe. The round top side table and the barrel back armchair stand on diagonally woven lattice bases constructed from willow slats. The armchair features stitched leather upholstery covering its curved tub seat frame, with smooth round armrests and visible stitching along the upper edges of the backrest. The table has a plain circular wooden top surface supported by a cylindrical interlaced wooden lattice base. Measuring 94 cm high, 70 cm wide, and 61 cm deep, this set works as a statement seating and accent arrangement in a living room, study, or hallway. The warm tan brown timber and supple leather surfaces introduce organic texture and neutral earth tones to an interior space.

FAQs

Originating in traditional Spanish Colonial and regional folk craftsmanship, this style combines flexible timber weaving techniques with leather craft to create functional, lightweight seating and tables.

Traditional pieces are constructed using flexible wood slats such as willow or cedar bound into lattice structures, topped with stitched pigskin or cowhide upholstery.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-stitched leather seams, natural surface variations in the hide, and a distinct diagonal lattice base secured with traditional fastenings.

These textured pieces pair well with neutral linen upholstery, potted foliage, and natural fibre rugs to enhance modern rustic, bohemian, or eclectic interior schemes.

Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources to prevent leather desiccation, apply a neutral leather conditioner periodically, and brush the woven base gently to remove dust.
