Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The table has stunning burr walnut grain patterns and is a great size. By drawing the leaf on only one side, a clever and smooth extension mechanism draws both leaves open simultaneously. This reveals an extension leaf folded away beneath the top which unfolds and extends the dining area to seat all eight chairs. The table stands on a beautifully scrolled base and has some lovely carving on each corner.

The chairs are also incredibly beautiful, with a lovely matching scrolled design and burr walnut veneers on the back rests. They are well sprung, sturdy and comfortable.
We have had all the wood stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the chairs have all been re-upholstered in a cream cotton fabric. The condition is superb throughout.

This suite is part of a larger dining suite that we have, it all came from a previous owner who’s family bought this from new in the 1920’s. We have the matching sideboard, server and nest of tables available separately, we also have a matching bedroom suite in the same design. All can be seen listed under our other items for sale.
