Antique Afghan Baluch prayer rug with repeat lotus leaf design.

Circa 1920.

A good prayer rug with a repeat lotus leaf design to the field and hand placements. The rug has good colour with madder red, indigo blue and browns. The field of the rug is outlined in ivory wool, which gives the rug shape and definition.

The rug is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and full pile. The rug retains the original end finishes with some weft work decoration. The wool is very soft and glossy.

The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
