Description:
This is a fine antique English 19th century Victorian Arts & Crafts oak settle, circa 1890, comprising a two-panel back, which measures 3ft 7” wide, displaying a lovely mellow colour, in excellent original condition. Ideal for use in the hallway or kitchen. Displaying an Arts & Crafts design, with the block moulded frame, the oak settle comprises a mid-height back, with a moulded top rail with two fielded panels below, interspersed by block moulded rails and stiles.
The Arts & Crafts oak settle stands on simple block moulded feet to the front and rear, all of which are united by a central bar stretcher, for additional strength. The Victorian oak bench frame has been constructed in the traditional manner with mortise and tenon construction.

Condition Report:
This is a fine antique English 19th century Victorian Arts & Crafts oak settle, circa 1890, comprising a two-panel back, which measures 3ft 7” wide, displaying a lovely mellow colour, in excellent original condition. Ideal for use in the hallway or kitchen. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, frame, sides and drawer bottoms, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no breaks to the frame or legs. The Victorian oak settle retains its original polish and boasts a mellow oak colour. The Victorian seat bench is solid in joint and has been traditionally wax polished, by hand, in our workshop, to a professional standard, therefore, the finish, colour and patination are of an excellent standard. The Arts & Crafts oak settle is well constructed, solid in joint and is ready to be used.
