Samson of Paris was a 19th-century French manufacturer famous for creating high-quality reproductions of 18th-century European porcelain, including pieces inspired by the original Derby porcelain factory.

These figures were cast in hard-paste porcelain, hand-assembled with delicate flower or leaf bocage details, fired, and subsequently decorated with overglaze enamels and gilding.

Samson pieces were made using hard-paste porcelain which is denser and cooler to the touch than 18th-century soft-paste Derby porcelain, and often feature distinctive pseudo-hallmarks or hand-painted marks on the base.
