Farnham Antique Carpets has dated this Antique Shiraz Wool Rug to the 1920s.
Usually Shiraz rugs use three connecting medallions in the centre, this design is quite complex and executed by a good nomadic weaver around 1920. The stars, flowers, and stylised trees circling the central lozenge medallion in an almost diamond shape are rarer to find than most designs.

Condition is good, with some minor losses at both ends, and a small old repair in the central off white medallion, but hard to see unless looking up close. A wonderful variation of dyes, and abrash in the blues and red tones. A beautiful antique tribal rug to be used on the floor or hung on a wall.
