Country House and Eastern Interiors has dated this Antique Khamseh Tribal Rug to the 1880s.
South west persia,
In this weaving are a lot of smaller details including the bird motifs with no legs and a strange beak within the ivory ground central medallions. The obvious pecking chickens.

The comb motifs and a kind of animal with geometric motifs from head and tail and as feet scattered about the dark blue field colour.
All in all a very charming and more unusual khamseh.
The condition is all over low pile with wear. End fringes are cotton and sewn on later. Complete side cord loss both sides. Having said all that it is very tidy and ready to use as is and priced accordingly. Plenty of detailed images of rug.

I do have better khamseh's in stock with full piles and restored but people hard pushed to buy the 'better" rugs so now am offering lower condition examples at a fraction of the money.
Size is 5 foot 11 inches by 4 foot 5 inches. 180cm X 135cm. At widest points. Fringes not measured in size. All wool construction. End fringes later and made from cotton.
U.k post £16.
Many more restored, unrestored rugs and everything in between at very reasonable prices.
