Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Delftware refers to tin-glazed earthenware produced primarily in the Netherlands and Great Britain during the 17th and 18th centuries, renowned for its distinctive blue and white tin-glaze decoration inspired by imported Chinese porcelain.

These plates were crafted from a refined earthenware clay body covered with an opaque white tin glaze, which provided a smooth canvas for hand-painted cobalt oxide decoration before undergoing a final kiln firing.

Authentic 18th-century pieces typically exhibit small glaze pops, spur marks on the underside from kiln support pins, slight structural unevenness in the earthenware body, and soft, hand-painted cobalt brushwork rather than transfer prints.

Delft plates can be mounted on a wall in a structured grid or asymmetrical cluster, displayed on wooden plate racks, or placed on metal stands atop sideboards and mantelpieces to add historical depth and colour contrast.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and a mild detergent with a soft cloth, avoiding prolonged immersion or abrasive scrubbers. Do not place earthenware ceramics in a dishwasher or microwave environment.
