A Fine Renaissance style gilt bronze and enamel mantel clock

French, Circa late 19th century

This exquisite mantel clock is crafted in the idiosyncratic Renaissance Revival style that found its fullest expression in the latter 19th century. The clock is superb example of the type. The finely cast gilt bronze structure with profuse architectural motifs, together with three cherub figures. Inset throughout with colourful champlevé enamel panels with richly detailed patterns. The enamel dial inset into the front panel with a circular gilt bronze border and Roman numerals. Dimensions: Height: 12.4 in (31.5 cm) Width: 8 in (20.3cm) Depth: 6.7 in (17.02 cm)
