FJ & RD Story Antique Clocks has dated this French Ormolu Mantel Clock to the 1870s.

The painted porcelain dial with Roman numeral chapter ring, signed Jos Penlington Paris, decorated to the centre with a finely executed painting and surrounded by gold leaf motifs, further decoration and painted young woman to the lower section.

The high quality fully restored spring driven twin barrel movement, striking the hours on a single bell.
Stamped to the backplate AB within a star (Achille Brocot) and numbered 1633 17 - 1.

This high quality mantel clock is in fine original condition with the movement fully restored by our FBHI and Worshipful Clockmakers Company awarded horologist.
