An industrial wheeled cupboard is a mobile storage unit originally utilised in factories, workshops, or railway stations for transporting tools and materials during the early 20th century.

These utility pieces are traditionally constructed from heavy-duty timber such as pine or hardwood, featuring iron or cast-iron wheels, metal brackets, and push handles.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit genuine wear and tear, original distressed paint finishes, cast-iron hardware, and construction methods characteristic of the period, such as mortise and tenon joints.

This type of furniture serves as a functional statement piece, often used as a kitchen island, bar cart, or hallway console, contrasting raw utilitarian textures with contemporary decor.

Preservation involves dusting with a dry microfibre cloth and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to protect the original painted finish without altering the patina.
