Rare George IV Mahogany Book Case Or Wotnot Seago Family C1825

Here we have a rare configuration slim George IV flame Mahogany bookcase or Whatnot c1825. As you can see this piece has great colour and patina. By repute the bookcase has been in the Seago family for many years and more provenance can be given. There are well turned supports with curved blocks supporting the shelves. There are well turned finials to the top and the shelves are beautiful solid plum pudding Mahogany. Interestingly the shaped sides can be slid out and this is something we have never seen before but completely original to the item. There is a single drawer with flame Mahogany front and hand cut dovetail joints with solid Mahogany linings. There is a single cupboard with beautiful arch top flame Mahogany fronted fielded panel and a single shelf internally. There are exquisite ring turned feet and original casters. A super piece in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 152 cm high 50 cm wide 50 cm deep.
